“For my children, for all children.”
Dawn Savastano has called Ringwood home since 2010, where she and her husband, Mark, are raising their three children, all students in the Ringwood schools. With deep roots in the community, Dawn has been an active volunteer at Robert Erskine School, serving as class parent coordinator and helping with events from dances to Girl Scouts to talent shows. She believes in the strength of community and the importance of working together for the benefit of every child.
Professionally, Dawn brings over 15 years of experience in education. She began her career as a school psychologist before moving into administration, and today she serves as a supervisor of Special Education in a nearby district. Her background in child development, assessment, educational law, and school policy gives her firsthand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities schools face every day.
Dawn is running for re-election to the Ringwood Board of Education because she believes in fiscally responsible decisions, research-backed curriculum improvements, and creating safe, supportive environments for all students. She is committed to keeping politics out of education, listening to the voices of parents and educators, and making thoughtful, data-driven choices. For Dawn, this work is personal—both as a parent and as an educator—because every child in Ringwood deserves the very best foundation for their future.
